Could you tell me more about your site and how best to use it?
My Web Pursuit is getting students to learn how to effectively and
efficiently search the Internet for specific information. My Web
Pursuit is also a supplemental resource for many topics of study. My
Web Pursuit may be used individually or with a class of students.
What ages/grades is My Web Pursuit designed for?
My Web Pursuit lessons are designed to meet the needs of all students at
their educational level. We have three lesson categories to select
from. The three lesson categories are Basic, Advanced, and Rigorous.
Basic lessons offer one or two questions and are designed for beginners to
Internet searching. Advanced lessons offer 3 or more questions for
searching the Internet. Rigorous lessons have 5 or
more questions and
require the most in-depth searching of the Internet. The three
lesson categories are color coded. On the Search Lessons page, Basic
lessons are color coded green. Advanced lessons are color coded
blue. Rigorous lessons are color coded red.
Can My Web Pursuit be used with Smartboards?
Absolutely. One suggestion would be to use a Smartboard to
introduce navigating a lesson search on My Web Pursuit before attempting
to do a lesson independently.
How can I help my students become more efficient in searching the Internet
for information?
My Web Pursuit has a web page "How To Search the Internet." It
offers many tips for effective, efficient Internet searching. You may
consider using this link as an introductory lesson before using a Search
Lesson on My Web Pursuit.
How come I can't see the bottom of the lesson page?
Use the scroll bar to the right of the lesson and the scroll bar on the
far right to pull or roll down to see the rest of the lesson questions.
I keep putting in the correct answer and the computer says it's wrong.
Why is this happening?
The answer must be spelled correctly or the computer will mark it
incorrect. Also, make sure you have not included any extra spaces
with your answer if you have used cut and paste to enter the answer into
the answer space box. Be sure to enter only one answer per answer
blank.
Some of the answers to the lessons are challenging to find. Could
I get the answers to the My Web Pursuit lessons?
Yes. Please use the
Contact Us link and we will send you the
Answers to My Web Pursuit Lessons.
I went to a web site to find an answer and the web site took over my
whole screen. How do I get back to My Web Pursuit?
Try using the back button in the top left corner of your screen.
If this does not help, you will have to reenter the address www.MyWebPursuit.com into the
http:// field box at the top of the page. For Advanced and Rigorous
lessons that have multiple questions, it may be helpful to jot answers
down on paper just in case a website takes over your computer screen.
How do I find a specific lesson on My Web Pursuit?
Please see
Choose a Lesson,
Lesson List, or use the
Site Search Box
on the
Homepage to find a lesson that suits your specific needs.
Is there an easy way for me to get back to the My Web Pursuit Homepage?
Yes. Click on the red My Web Pursuit at the top of most pages and
you will be taken to the My Web Pursuit Homepage.
